Desert Med Aesthetics uses Levulan® Kerastick® Photodynamic Therapy, the most advanced and effective treatment for cystic acne. This treatment is also used for actinic keratoses (AKs), those rough, scaly patches on the skin that are frequently called "sun spots." AKs develop as the result of years of sun exposure and are considered to be the first step in the development of skin cancer. People who spends a lot of time outdoors such as golfers, tennis players and boaters are at increased risks for AKs.

Both cystic acne and AKs can be treated with a simple 3 step procedure called Levulan® Kerastick® and results are usually seen within one week of treatment.

For less severe acne laser therapy or Microdermabrasion is recommended.
