Topical Numbing Creams vs. Our Advanced Comfort Techniques
Many providers rely solely on topical numbing creams before injectable treatments such as lip fillers. While these creams can help numb the skin’s surface, they do not address deeper tissues where injections are placed, which can result in discomfort during treatment.
At Desert Med Aesthetics, Dr. Cosgrove often performs a dental block for lip enhancement procedures, allowing the entire treatment area to become fully numb. This technique provides a significantly more comfortable experience while limiting numbness to approximately 45 minutes.
