Do You Dare to Try Jeuveau, the Newest Injectable?

Jeuveau California

If you’re a cosmetic dermatology enthusiast, chances are you’ve heard that there’s a new type of Botox® on the block. Advertised as the Botox® for the modern woman, Jeuveau promises to help patients discreetly manage the aging process and preserve their youthful looks for longer.

As one of the first specialists in the greater Palm Springs region to offer Jeuveau, Dr. Cosgrove is among a select few cosmetic specialists familiar with how this procedure works.

For our patients eager to try something new, our Indian Wells doctor has pulled together what you need to know about this new procedure. Still have questions? Call our office at 760-777-8772 today to schedule your Jeuveau consultation!

What Is Jeuveau?

Jeuveau is the world’s first aesthetic-only neuromodulator and is the first new anti-aging injectable to reach U.S. patients in over 10 years. FDA-Approved in 2019, Jeuveau promises results that are just as good, if not better than traditional Botox®

Compared side-by-side, there is very little that sets the procedures apart. Both Jeuveau and Botox® are highly refined forms of the neurotoxin produced by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum.

As a result, each blocks the nerve receptors on muscles. This temporarily paralyzes the muscle tissue and causes facial muscles to relax. This smooths skin above the surface, thereby reducing the appearance of wrinkles and creases.

Why Go Jeuveau?

With these striking similarities in mind, it’s no wonder why patients are curious as to how this procedure differs from Botox®. After all, why fix or switch from a product that offers the same results?

At Desert Med Aesthetics, we consider ourselves pioneers in new and innovative cosmetic treatments. Here’s some of the reasons why our Indian Wells specialist finds Jeuveau to be worth a try.

Longevity

Initial studies conducted during clinical trials suggest that Jeuveau may last longer than other neuromodulators like Botox®, Dysport, and Xeomin®.

While a patient’s actual treatment longevity is dependent on the severity of creasing as well as where the wrinkling occurs, Jeuveau injections helped patients enjoy wrinkle-free skin for four to six months.

Like existing brands, Jeuveau can be safely administered as muscles begin to regain nerve response.

Ability to Target Specific Areas

Not all neurotoxin treatments react the same once injected. For instance, while Botox® injections stay in place, Dysport tends to disperse to the surrounding tissue once injected into the face.

While Jeuveau is derived from the same botulinum protein as Dysport, it reacts more like Botox® upon injection and stays where it’s been injected.

Made for Aesthetics

Another standout fact about Jeuveau is its design. Where other neuromodulators were originally designed as medical solutions to a wide array of conditions, Jeuveau is the first treatment made specifically for the aesthetic treatment of tackling moderate to severe frown lines.

Designed to Be Affordable

One of the biggest differences between Jeuveau and other neuromodulators isn’t in the formula but in the price.

When this injectable was first introduced to the U.S. market, parent company Evolus shook the cosmetics world by announcing that the treatment would be offered at nearly a third less than other products on the market.

Whether it was a publicity stunt or not, the comparatively low cost of Jeuveau makes it an ideal option for anyone interested in similar forms of facial restoration but turned off by the price of a single injection.
